The Reverend Beverley Waller-Washington is the daughter of the late Laura A. Waller and Ralph Waller. She is a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where she was educated in the city public school system.
She is a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, where on March 16 1986, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Michael A. Owens, she was licensed to preach the Gospel. In May 1989, Reverend Waller-Washington became the first woman to receive recommendation for ordination from the Credentials Council of the Central Baptist Association of Pennsylvania, Inc. then on July 2 1989, the Tabernacle Baptist Church ordained her. She is a graduate of Andersonville Theological Seminary, Camilla, Georgia; a graduate of The Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary’s Eastern School for Christian Ministry, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has studied at Lebanon Valley College, Annville, PA.
Reverend Beverley Waller-Washington has served in various leadership capacities. She served as Chairperson for the Harrisburg School Board's Bus Safety Committee. Under her leadership, the committee recommended to the School Board the purchasing of "mechanical stop signs" which would be attached to all city school buses to aid in alleviating the number of vehicular accidents and deaths involving school children. In addition, Reverend Waller-Washington has served as Chairman of the Credit Committee, Belco Community (formerly Belco Federal Credit Union) Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. At the State and Regional levels of the Pennsylvania Baptist State Congress of Christian Education she served as treasurer and financial secretary. For the Interdenominational Ministers' Conference of Greater Harrisburg, Reverend Waller-Washington organized, developed, and chaired the Capital Area City-Wide Revival's Evangelistic and Outreach Ministries. In addition, she has served in several elected positions for the Central Baptist Association of Pennsylvania, Inc.
In January 1999, the Tabernacle Baptist Church unanimously elected Reverend Beverley Waller-Washington to serve as the Interim Pastor. Under her leadership from January 1999 to September 2000, the church grew both numerically and financially. Presently, under the leadership of Pastor Arthur L. Brown, Sr., Reverend Beverley Waller-Washington serves as the Assistant Pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. She is married to Deacon Gonzales G. Washington and has one daughter, Arla M. Waller, Esquire.
